Sagrada invites you to become a master window artisan, crafting a stained glass masterpiece one carefully placed die at a time. Draft coloured dice, navigate placement restrictions (matching colour and shade patterns), and use special tools to break the rules when inspiration strikes. Every game is unique: variable scoring patterns, hidden colour goals, and the beautiful constraint of building something perfect make Sagrada as much puzzle as game.
How to play
Each round, players draft dice in turn order (the start player rotates, snaking back around after the last player drafts two dice). You then place your drafted dice on your player board grid, which shows where each colour or shade is permitted. Dice of the same shade or colour can never be adjacent. Special tools can be activated by spending skill tokens to break placement rules temporarily—but once you use a tool, the next player must spend more skill tokens to use it, creating an escalating cost. After three rounds of drafting, calculate your score based on variable pattern objectives, colour variety, and bonus points for dark shades matching your hidden goal colour. Highest score wins.
Why you'll love it
Sagrada is a beautiful blend of puzzle and strategy. The dice-drafting mechanic is straightforward, but placement restrictions create genuine strategic depth: you'll constantly weigh the colour you want against what's actually placeable. The special tools add tactical choice—do you break the rules now, or save your tokens? Variable scoring patterns mean every game feels fresh; you're never solving the same puzzle twice. The production is gorgeous: colourful translucent dice, delicate player boards, and stunning artwork make Sagrada a table showstopper. Perfect for strategy gamers who love puzzles, anyone seeking a relaxing yet engaging game, or families looking for something beautiful and thoughtful. Solo play is fully supported, making it ideal for solo gaming too.
