The Resistance is a game of hidden identities, trust, and betrayal that will have your group second-guessing every word. You're either a Resistance Operative fighting the Empire or an Imperial Spy working undercover. Over three to five rounds of intense missions, you'll rely on each other to succeed—while desperately trying to figure out who's working against you. It's inspired by Mafia and Werewolf, but with a fresh twist: no one gets eliminated, so everyone stays engaged until the final round.
How to play
Each round, players discuss strategy, then the Leader assigns a set of Plans to specific players. Everyone votes on whether to approve the assignment. Once approved, the chosen players secretly decide whether to Support or Sabotage the mission. A single sabotage fails the mission (Empire wins the round), while all-support missions succeed (Resistance wins the round). First team to win three missions wins the game. Discussion intensifies with every round as players deduce identities and build or break trust.
Why you'll love it
The genius of The Resistance is that everyone plays every round—there's no elimination, so tension builds consistently and every voice matters until the final moment. You're constantly weighing evidence: Who's too quiet? Who talks too much? Can you trust this player's story? The game thrives on player interaction and creates unforgettable moments of accusation, laughter, and surprise reveals. Perfect for game nights with friends, team-building events, or anyone who loves psychological gameplay and social deduction. At 30 minutes, it's quick enough to play multiple rounds back-to-back.
